The Vision for Education
As the community grew, so did the recognition of the need for a strong educational foundation for its children. That vision became a reality on March 18, 1991, when Pastor Roosevelt Robinson, Jr., together with Mr. Ed Pittman and Mr. Wallace Bowers, helped establish the Progress Village Day Care.
The beginning was modest—just two students and three staff members.
The vision for education continued to expand under the leadership of Dr. Sam Maxwell, Senior Teaching Pastor, with the establishment of Progress Village Academy, which grew to include a first-grade program.
In 1996, Progress Village Academy evolved into Progress Village Christian Academy, expanding its educational offerings to include a preschool program serving Pre-K through K4 and an elementary school serving students through fifth grade.
CONTINUING THE LEGACY
Today, Progress Village Christian Academy stands as an educational cornerstone in the Progress Village community. What began with a small group of students has grown into a ministry of education that reaches and teaches children and families while emphasizing the importance of academic excellence, character development, faith, and purpose.
PVCA is committed to providing a quality Christian education that helps students become inspired, committed, and equipped to live as disciples of Christ. Through the partnership of educators, families, and the community, we seek to nurture the whole child—academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally.
Our history reminds us that great things often begin with a small act of faith and a willingness to serve. The vision planted by those who came before us continues to grow, and we are honored to build upon their foundation as we prepare the next generation for lives of purpose and service.
The work continues. The vision lives on. The legacy grows.
At Progress Village Christian Academy, we remain committed to the purpose God has entrusted to us: to develop minds, shape character, and inspire purpose, to equip the next generation to walk in faith, pursue excellence, and fulfill their God-given purpose.
“That we should be to the praise of his glory…”
Ephesians 1:12 (KJV)

OUR MISSION
Progress Village Christian Academy exists to provide a Christ-centered educational environment that nurtures the spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and physical development of children from early learning through elementary education. Through biblical instruction, academic excellence, and loving care, we partner with families to develop students of character, wisdom, faith, and purpose.

OUR VISION
To be a premier Christian academy recognized for developing confident learners, compassionate leaders, and faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who are equipped to impact their families, churches, and communities for generations to come.
OUR DUAL MISSION FOR FAMILIES
As a vital extension of First Baptist Church of Progress Village, PVCA fulfills the church's vision to cultivate the next generation of Christian leaders. We seamlessly combine rigorous academics with intentional spiritual discipleship-so that no family has to choose between a great education and a great faith environment. Here, they are one and the same.
